What the service is

This site is a search interface over one bitmagnet instance, which records torrent metadata it observes on the BitTorrent DHT. It does not host, store, seed, or transmit the files those records describe. See the disclaimer for the longer version. The disclaimer is part of these terms.

Everything you see here is automatically indexed and is not reviewed, verified, or selected by anyone. Metadata may be inaccurate or deliberately misleading, and records may refer to material that is unlawful where you are. You are responsible for your own compliance with the law.

Eligibility

You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live. If you create an account, you confirm that you are.

Accounts

You can search without an account. An account exists only so you can save searches as feeds and use the Torznab endpoint.

• You give an email address and a password. Keep the password to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account.
• Use an address you can actually receive mail at if you want to be able to ask us anything about your account later. We have no automated password reset and no automated account deletion. Both go through support@torrents.observer.
• One person, one account. Scripted or bulk account creation is not allowed.
• Tell us at support@torrents.observer if you think someone else is using your account.

Feeds, feed tokens, and API keys

Saved searches are exposed as RSS feeds, and accounts can hold one Torznab API key for use with clients like Sonarr or Radarr.

• The token in a feed URL is a credential. Anyone who has the URL can read that feed without signing in, so treat it like a password: paste it into your reader, don't post it anywhere public. Your Torznab API key works the same way.
• You can rotate a feed's token or your API key at any time from your account pages. Rotating replaces the old credential immediately, and anything still using the old one stops working.
• We can revoke any feed, token, or key at any time and without notice. In practice, we do this when one is being abused.

Acceptable use

Don't:

• Circumvent, or try to circumvent, rate limits, the proof-of-work check, or any other access control, including by cycling addresses, accounts, or keys.
• Scrape the catalogue in bulk, mirror it, or rebuild it elsewhere. The endpoints here are for reading searches you care about, not for harvesting the index.
• Try to reach another user's feeds, account, or API key, or guess at feed tokens or API keys.
• Attack, overload, probe, or interfere with the service or the infrastructure behind it.
• Use the service to break the law where you are, or to help anyone else do so.

Automated clients are welcome within the limits below. Feed readers and *arr apps are exactly what the RSS and Torznab endpoints are for.

Rate limits

Every search costs the instance behind this site a real database query, so requests are rate limited, per client for searches and per credential for feeds and Torznab. Ordinary browsing and normal feed polling stay comfortably inside the limits. Exceed them and you'll get a 429, or a short proof-of-work check the browser solves for itself. The limits are set by the operator and can change; the current shape of them is described on About and in the setup docs.

Availability

The service, its endpoints, its API surface, and these terms can change, break, or be withdrawn at any time and without notice. Saved feeds and API keys are not backed up on your behalf. Don't build anything you care about on top of this without keeping your own copy of what matters.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be available, uninterrupted, accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, torrents.observer is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, or from any indexed record, magnet link, feed, or API response, including lost data, lost time, or anything you obtain or do elsewhere as a result of using this site.

Copyright

If you are a rightsholder and believe an indexed record refers to infringing material, follow the copyright and takedown policy.

Termination

You can stop using the service at any time. To have your account and its data removed, write to support@torrents.observer. We can suspend or remove an account, a feed, a token, or access from a given client at any time and without notice, with abuse of these terms being the usual reason.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Cayman Islands, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Nothing here takes away any right you have under the consumer-protection law of the country you live in that cannot be waived by agreement.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version on this page, with its date, is the one in force. Substantive changes will be noted here rather than made silently.
